The latest UK airline punctuality figures for charter flights from FlightOnTime.info make for depressing reading, with an average delay of 27.1 minutes between January and March 2007.
Scheduled operators fared better: BMI Regional was the most punctual airline with 91.6% of its flights operating within 15 minutes of schedule (the industry definition of on-time).
This being the period immediately prior to BA Connect's merger with Flybe, the figures show 6th placed BA Connect with an average delay of 11.8 minutes ahead of 11th placed Flybe with an average 14.6 minute delay. This ranked Flybe third of the low cost carriers behind Ryanair and bmibaby.
With one in four flights subject to a delay of more than 15 minutes, flying can be a frustrating business. So, if you're flying on a scheduled airline and are worried about delays, why not keep up to date by signing-up for StreamThru, the free mobile flight information service?
